Aseptic technique (theoretical and laboratory) – Control of diarrheal disease – Vital signs – Medical hand washing – Surgical hand washing – Establishing and maintaining a sterile field and isolation technique. – Donning and removing sterile gloves (open method). – Donning and removing sterile gown and sterile gloves (closed method). Unit III. History taking and nursing process – Patient admission. – Patient discharge. – Transfer of patient. – Preparation for physical assessment. – Communication and filling. – nursing process – Recording and Reporting. – Donning and removing sterile gloves (open method). – Donning and removing sterile gown and sterile gloves (closed method). Unit IV. Eating and drinking (Nutrition) – Feeding the patient – Inserting and removing NGT – Irrigating NGT – Gastric lavage Unit V. Elimination – Offering and removing bed-pan and urinal – Administering an enema – Intake & output charting – Collecting specimen Unit VI. Oxygenation – Administering O2 by nasal cannula, face mask, head tent. – Nebulizer inhalation – Coughing and breathing exercise.
